You have chosen to arrive in Haines through Juneau’s International Airport, Southeast’s air hub, where charter, regional and major airlines all travel through. Juneau is reachable any time of the year from the lower 48, less than a three-hour flight from Seattle, multiple direct flights arrive daily. Haines has landings out of Juneau with small commuter planes; there are multiple daily flights. Alaska Marine Highway ferry system is a great option if you are traveling with your vehicle, it serves most of the Southeast area, either departing/arriving through Bellingham or Prince Rupert.
Traveling by ferry (Southeast’s road) you stop at communities along the way giving you opportunities to stay a few days. Another option out of Juneau is Alaska Fjordlines catamaran, a Haines based company offering a 2 ½ hour tour with stops along the way for sea life and provides your own tour guide.
