Parks and Gardens

Haines is a breathtaking scenic community.  We are reminded of this daily when we look outside how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful location. While you are here, enjoy the scenery Haines has to offer while taking in the parks and gardens.  Our state parks, 10 miles south or 10 miles northeast, have access to a picnic area, latrines, water, historical features, and a boat launch that enter waterways to drop a line and catch dinner.

Our Haines Borough maintains intown parks; Picture Point, Tlingit Park, Oslund Park, Sharnbroich Field and the school playground.  Our Southeast State Fairgrounds has a beautiful community garden, horseshoe pit, dirt volleyball court, playground, ball field, and a disc golf course.  Don’t forget to get some friends and enjoy the beach down in front of town, where you can just relax and get some sun or get on your paddleboard, kayak, and canoe and sail away.

Arts & Galleries

Boasting that there are more artists per capita than any town in Southeast, Alaska right here in Haines, so during your visit you will meet our local entrepreneurs and hear their stories.
