One Road.

Two Countries.

Endless Views.

Kluane Chilkat International Bike Relay

Each June, cyclists from across North America gather for one of the most breathtaking and beloved races in the North—the Kluane Chilkat International Bike Relay (KCIBR).

Spanning approximately 150 miles from Haines Junction, Yukon to Haines, Alaska, the route winds through glacier-carved valleys, alpine vistas, and stretches of remote wilderness that few ever experience by bike.

Whether you're a seasoned competitor or a casual rider in it for the views, KCIBR is all about camaraderie, challenge, and the joy of the open road. Riders compete solo or in teams of 2, 4, or 8, making the event accessible to everyone—from elite cyclists to first-time participants.

Held each year around the summer solstice, riders enjoy nearly endless daylight as they make their way to the finish line in Haines. While the fastest competitors complete the course in under six hours, every rider is celebrated for crossing the finish line.

More Than Just a Bike Race

Race weekend is one of Haines' favorite weekends of the summer. The Southeast Alaska State Fair partners with the Lynn Canal Gillnetters to host the popular Fisherman's Community Barbecue, complete with delicious salmon, live music, and a festive atmosphere that welcomes racers, volunteers, and spectators alike.

Stay Tuned for the Next Race

Details for the next Kluane Chilkat International Bike Relay, including race dates, registration information, and weekend activities, will be announced as they become available.

We look forward to welcoming riders and visitors for another unforgettable journey through two countries and some of the most spectacular scenery in the North.
