Tresham Gregg’s Northwest Supernatural concept brings an imaginative and deeply spiritual approach to his art, blending elements of mysticism, nature, and the human experience. His work is a reflection of the world he sees, where every element is imbued with spirit and meaning. This unique perspective comes to life in his Uniquely Alaskan Arts Gallery, where visitors can immerse themselves in the world of Northwest Supernatural. Whether you’re drawn to his woodcarvings, metal sculptures, or whimsical spirit puppets, each piece tells a story that invites personal connection.

At the gallery, guests can also experience the magic of custom northern goddess portraits or create their own unique personal headdresses—adding an interactive, personal element to their visit that deepens their connection to the art and the stories behind it.

Stepping into a World of Spirit and Creativity

"Northwest Supernatural is special way of looking at things, life, animals, and each other.  It is about valuing nature for itself, about valuing each other as potential allies and friends.  It is about seeing sacred spirit in everything and animating it through artistic stylization.  It is the cosmic story behind reality as we see it.  It is the sense of well-being that comes from engaging in a Happiness way of being.  Interpersonal shamanism comes into play as we each have to ignite our inner shaman persona for the well-being of all. We have to write our own script with all this in mind, yet without knowing just what we are going to be dealing with at any point.  Just facing uncertainty and dealing with it is a shamanic act of personal power.

Animals and their greater spirits are of utmost importance in the Northwest Supernatural mystic realm.  They are a spirit connection to the Great Spirit represented by Raven as in the spiritual thinking of the Native Peoples.  The Animal Council meets to determine nature’s strategy in the face of external threats.  Animal Spirit Helpers and Guides are accessed through shamanic journeying to aid in acquiring visions and insights. Reality is seen as a waking shamanic journey revealing everything as spirit.  Value is in the spiritual aspects of art combined with the art of having fun and creating happiness.

Magic is in the story - of heroism, of overcoming obstacles, of helping others or Mother Nature, of peacekeeping, or of creating artistic fantasy.  Each of the many characters comes from a unique perspective from their imaginary archetypal backgrounds. Some are whimsical funny bone oddball characters while others are seriously perceptive spiritual beings trying to navigate a meaningful path ahead.  Some are spirits from another dimension that come out to interact and impart their cosmic guidance.   Each step of the way is fraught with uncertainty and challenge that calls for personal transformation into our greater-self superheroes.

Northwest Supernatural is where mountains become configurations of spirit heads conferring among themselves.  Clusters of moss and twigs become forest spirit creatures.  Lichen become ceremonial dancers.  Clouds become swirling birds and spirit canoes.  Northern Lights become Aurora Eagles and Ravens.  Everything has the potential for mythic relationship.  Art has talismanic significance.

It is about finding, identifying, and working with your Spirit Helpers that you find along the way in your journey of self-realization.  It is about seeing the cosmic twisted sense of humor in our human situation. Northwest Supernatural is a journey into imaginative places and visions, playing with the archetypes of humanity as characters in a cosmic mythology.  When the Animal Council meets, what is being said?"
