Fish attract bears – Stop fishing if a bear is nearby. Release your line or cut it if needed. Dispose of fish remains in deep, swift water by chopping, tossing, and rinsing. Refrain from using stringers. Store all food, bait, line, tackle, and garbage in your vehicle or bear-resistant containers. Remember, coolers are not bear-proof.
Keep Wildlife Wild – Never feed wild animals. Bears are intelligent and will associate humans with food, putting you and the bear in danger of being injured or killed. Feeding bears, and leaving trash or your picnic area unattended, is illegal.
Be Considerate of Others – Everyone enjoys wilderness and wildlife in different ways. Be sure to respect private property, and give hunters, anglers, and others plenty of space.
