Throughout the year, the Haines Visitor Center strives to support local events, festivals, and community celebrations that welcome visitors and bring our town together — and volunteers play a big role in making it all possible.

The Freeride World Tour is coming to Haines this March, bringing athletes, staff, and visitors from around the world to the Chilkat Valley.

The official competition weather window is:

March 15–22, 2026
(Competition day determined on mountain conditions)

Right now, we are gathering names and contact information for community members who may be interested in helping during the event. Specific volunteer roles and scheduling details will be shared closer to March as event needs are confirmed.
