Boat transportation is a very popular way to travel between communities in Alaska and beyond.

2021 State Fair - Ferry Schedules

There are three different ferries that service Haines. The Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS) runs year-round, and provides both passenger and vehicle ferry service to communities all across Alaska, as well as Prince Rupert, BC, Canada, and Bellingham, WA, USA. The Haines-Skagway Fast Ferry (HSFF) provides passenger service only between Haines and Skagway during summer months. There is also Alaska Fjordlines, which offers whale watching/sightseeing tours, as well as passenger service between Haines, Skagway and Juneau.
